Bottleful is a formula bottle feeding tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch. This policy explains what personal data Bottleful uses, and what happens when you contact us.
1. Who is responsible
support@bottleful.app
Nurlan Toktonaliev is the data controller for the processing described in sections 5 and 7. Section 3 explains why the data inside the app is not ours to process.
2. Data stored by the app
Bottleful stores only what its logging function needs:
- the baby's first name;
- the usual bottle amount;
- the preferred unit, either ml or fl oz; and
- each feed entry, consisting of a volume and a timestamp.
The baby's first name and the feed entries concern an infant. This information is entered by the parent or guardian using Bottleful. It is not obtained from the infant.
This data stays on the device. Bottleful does not send it to us, and we have no access to it. When Bottleful is used with an Apple Watch, the relevant data is transferred directly between the iPhone and the Apple Watch. It is not sent anywhere else.
3. Why the app uses this data
Bottleful uses the data only to provide the logging function requested by the parent or guardian. It is not used to make automated decisions about anyone.
This processing happens entirely on your device. The entries and the baby's details are created and stored by you, on hardware you control, and are never transmitted to us. We cannot read, identify or retrieve them, and we do not process them.
We are the data controller only for the limited personal data that does reach us: support email, described in section 5, and website request data handled by our host, described in section 7.
4. How long app data is kept
App data stays on the device until it is deleted there. Deleting Bottleful deletes all data Bottleful stored on that device. Because we never receive it, we cannot recover it afterwards.
5. Support email
If you email support@bottleful.app, we receive whatever your message contains, normally including your email address. Please avoid including information about your baby unless it is necessary for us to answer your question.
We use support email only to read and answer your request. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in providing support. Messages are kept for up to 24 months, and only we have access to the mailbox.
6. Data we receive from Apple
Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store. Apple handles the purchase and charges your Apple Account; we never receive your payment details.
Apple provides us with aggregated, anonymised sales and usage statistics that do not identify individual users. If you have chosen to share diagnostics with developers in your device settings, Apple may also give us crash reports.
7. Website
The Bottleful website is a static informational page. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and contains no tracking or forms. Personal information reaches us through the website only if you choose to email us.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes visitors' IP addresses and request data in order to deliver and protect the site, acting as our processor.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may, depending on the circumstances, have the right to ask what personal data we process about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict processing, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to receive it in a portable format. Contact support@bottleful.app to exercise them.
There is an important practical limit. We cannot see, identify or retrieve the data stored inside your copy of the app, so we cannot remotely access, correct, export or delete those records for you. They remain under your control on the device. We can answer requests about information we actually hold, such as support email.
9. Complaints
If you believe your data protection rights have been infringed, you may complain to a supervisory authority. In Portugal this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD). You are welcome to contact us first at support@bottleful.app so we can try to resolve it.
10. Changes
If Bottleful's handling of personal data changes, this policy will be updated to describe the change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
